Lawrence Kagan is a UCLA honors graduate, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry. He received his medical training at USC Keck School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. In addition to passionately studying neonatal, general pediatric and adolescent medicine at CHLA, he had the opportunity to train under some of the greatest minds in subspecialty pediatrics, diagnosing and managing the rarest and most complicated childhood ailments. Prior to opening Westside Pediatrics, he worked as an attending physician at the CHLA Emergency Department as well as at Cedars Sinai Urgent Care. Dr. Kagan is a native of Los Angeles. He and his wife, Cathy, currently live in Pacific Palisades with their two children, Reese and Colin.
Dorothy Klein is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. She is originally from Virginia and received her undergraduate degree in Human Biology with an area of concentration in Children’s Health and Development from Stanford University. She graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society. She completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. After residency, Dr. Klein continued on as an attending pediatric hospitalist at UCLA. Prior to Westside Pediatrics, she spent one year in the Outback of Australia among Aboriginal communities practicing rural and remote pediatric medicine with the Royal Flying Doctor Service. She lives in Pacific Palisades with her husband Patrick, and two boys, Kai and Ryan.

Emily Bruckner Krasnow was born and raised in Sherman Oaks, California. Growing up as the daughter, niece, and sister of pediatricians, taking care of children and families has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from Duke University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience. She completed her medical training at UCLA School of Medicine, where she was selected to be a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, where her parents, uncle, and brother had all trained before her. After residency, she worked at Tribeca Pediatrics in Venice, California. She happily joined the Westside Pediatrics family in 2015. She lives in Mar Vista with her husband, David, and her four beautiful sons, Hayden, Landon, and twins Warren and Cody (as well as her giant step-pet, Duchess the pot-bellied pig!).

CAITLIN COLVARD, MD, FAAP

Caitlin Colvard was born and raised in Pacific Palisades. She graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with research in infant and child development. Caitlin received her medical degree from Chicago Medical School where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society which recognizes individuals who are exemplars of humanistic patient care and who will serve as role models and leaders in medicine. She completed her internship and residency training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles where she received multiple awards for excellence in clinical pediatrics, leadership, and future promise in the care of children. Caitlin is passionate about the role she plays in the lives of her patients. She believes every child is unique and makes it her mission to build strong personal relationships with her patients and their families. She currently lives in Pacific Palisades with her husband, Nima, and her daughters, Olivia, Scout and Noelle. In her free time she enjoys spending time at the beach with her family, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, and practicing pilates.
JESSICA ZAK, MD, FAAP

Dr. Jessie Zak was born and raised in Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!) and moved to California for her internship and residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Drawn by her sense of adventure, love for sunshine, and dedication to serving the local community, she decided to settle in Los Angeles after completing her residency. A summa cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, Dr. Jessie earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Pharmacology and Toxicology, followed by a Master of Science in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University. Before joining Westside Pediatrics, she worked in the Emergency Department at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, treating children with conditions ranging from common colds to critical illnesses. This experience, combined with her specialized training, enables Dr. Jessie to take a well rounded approach to pediatric care, integrating traditional medicine, emergency medicine and complementary therapies to optimize health through nutrition, lifestyle, and disease prevention. Dr. Jessie lives near the beach with her husband, Tim, daughter, Bridget, and two Mini Australian Shepherds, where she enjoys staying active, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.

LAURA LEWIS, MD, FAAP

Dr. Laura Lewis was born and raised in the La Crescenta/Burbank area of Los Angeles. She graduated from UCLA with a BA in History and a special interest in the history of medicine, which is a topic she studied while abroad in England. She earned a MS in Global Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine at USC. While applying to medical school, she worked at a private elementary and middle school, rotating through different grades throughout the year to learn more about normal childhood development. She returned to Keck the next year to complete her medical degree. She completed her internship and residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles where she had a capstone project in medical education, as part of their education track. She stayed at CHLA as an attending physician and then as a faculty member, where she had a special interest in education at the high school through residency levels. She gained experience seeing medically complex and healthy children. She learned that she loved working with patients and their families to break down what was happening medically in a way that made sense. Laura lives in Santa Monica. She loves to read, travel, and be active. Some of her favorite activities are beach volleyball, running, and intramural adult kickball. She is very excited to bring her medical expertise to Westside Pediatrics and build her patient panel!
SINAN DENNY-BROWN, MD, FAAP

Dr. Sinan Denny-Brown is a board-certified pediatrician with over ten years of experience in pediatric care as well as specialized training in pediatric cardiology (heart care for kids). Born and raised in Virginia, he obtained his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He moved to Los Angeles for internship and residency training in Pediatrics at one of the top programs in the country in Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Dr. Denny-Brown has additional expertise in children’s heart health, as he completed three years of fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiology at CHLA. He prides himself in providing personalized, knowledgeable, and easy-to-understand care that helps prevent illness and gets his patients and their families back to living their lives to their fullest potential. He also is well-versed in Spanish and can provide care to Spanish-speaking patients and caregivers. Dr. DB lives in Culver City with his wife, daughter, and maltipoo. He looks forward to getting to know you and appreciates the opportunity to participate in your family's care.
